Day 8: Weather-bound

We’re in little Uthaug seeking shelter from the weather. I’d be lying if I said it doesn’t feel good with a small break from being out on the water with nowhere to go. ๐Ÿ˜‚ There are no shops or restaurants in the immediate area, so we have to take a taxi 6km to Brekstad to… Continue reading Day 8: Weather-bound

Day 7: A mundane day

Everything looks pretty much the same today, so not many pictures to add today either. We’ll reach Uthaug in a few hours and we’re both getting a liiiittle tired of being on-board 24/7 but very happy with being just over the half-way mark of the trip. ๐Ÿ˜Š Other funny place names we’ve come across is… Continue reading Day 7: A mundane day

Day 6: Almost ashore

In a couple of hours we’ll finally arrive after a really long day. One thing is certain about this country (besides a lot of similar scenery along the coast ๐Ÿ˜‹), is that there are a lot of odd names to find on the map. In half an hour we’ve passed Husefluna, Ortemeda, Klakken and Bleia… Continue reading Day 6: Almost ashore

Day 6: Chugging along

We’re inching closer to ร…lesund and the goal for today is a small place called Bud on the island Averรธy close to Molde. ๐Ÿ˜Š Its also the home of the famous Atlanterhavsvegen.

Day 4: We’ve passed Bergen

Not thinking ahead for this trip I didn’t pack anything to read, so I’ve bought whats been available in the tiny places we’ve been (and the bigger where everything except 7-11’s were closed when we arrived). So far I’ve gone through Se&Hรธr (awful tabloid, for shame!), MAD & Nemi (comics), Stella (chick mag) and have… Continue reading Day 4: We’ve passed Bergen

Day 3: Haugesund

We’ll pass Obrestad and Stavanger today. And its another day of surprisingly warm weather for the season. ๐Ÿ˜Š The sun is shining, and there are slight swells in the sea so we’ve slowed down a little bit, but after a 16 hour stretch, we dock at Haugesund for the night at around 7PM. Since we’re… Continue reading Day 3: Haugesund

Day 2: Sleepover Kirkehamn

We dock at Kirkehamn for the evening, an incredibly idyllic little town on the island of Hidra. Consists on not much more than a few houses, a church and a tiny food shop. Here is the first full view of the magnificent Smolten, as well. A huge and spacious vessel as you can see. ๐Ÿ˜›

Day 2: Passing Lindesnes

I got to sleep in and woke up 2-3 hours before we were set to pass Lindesnes. ๐Ÿ˜Š Lindesnes is the southern most part of Norway, so from here we start our journey going north. The waters were extremely calm and blended almost perfectly in with sky as far as the eye could see. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ… Continue reading Day 2: Passing Lindesnes
