As I mentioned in my previous post, we ended up never using Smolten as a fishing vessel. And that turned out to be a good decision, as not too long after we made it up there, it sank while at port in Havøysund.
As it turned out, the previous owner had patched up a vent/hole in the hull with nothing but construction foam and with the weight of my crab fishing equipment on deck, the hole ended up under the water line and the boat went down fast. I dread to think about if that had happened if we’ve used it and been out fishing.
